Church technology shouldn't depend on a church's budget

myChelper exists so that a congregation of forty has the same app, website, and mobile giving as a congregation of four thousand — for free, permanently, with no trial clock and no credit card.

The problem we were formed to address

Small congregations are priced out of the tools that larger churches take for granted. A website builder, a texting service, a giving processor, and a directory add up to hundreds of dollars a month before anyone has been reached. Churches serving low-income communities feel this first, and volunteer-run churches feel it hardest, because the cost is not only money but the hours it takes to stitch five disconnected systems together.

Faith Software, Inc. was formed as a nonprofit specifically to remove that barrier rather than to price around it.

Our program: free access for every church

Any church can create an account today on the Ready-To-Go plan and receive a real presence in the myChelper app, a church website, member communication with push notifications, groups and a prayer board, an events calendar, daily readings, and mobile giving. It is not a stripped trial — it is the same platform paying churches run on.

How the free plan is paid for

Hosting, support, and development cost money, and the free plan does not pay for itself. Three things fund it:

Optional paid plans. Churches that want a custom domain or their own branded app in the app stores can choose a paid tier. Those subscriptions subsidize free access for churches that cannot pay.
Giving platform fees. Donations run through Stripe. myChelper adds a platform fee by plan — 2% on Free, 1% on Ready-To-Go+, 0.5% on Branded — on top of Stripe's own card processing. That fee is cost recovery, not margin taken from a congregation's giving.
Donations to Faith Software, Inc. Gifts to the nonprofit go directly toward keeping the free plan open.

Faith Software, Inc. does not distribute profits to individuals. If a church needs a paid feature and cannot afford it, we would rather work something out than turn the church away — write to [email protected].
